The Ultimate Friendsgiving

Enjoy a traditional turkey Dinner with Friends...or don't.

If there is one thing I am thankful for at the moment, it's my friends. They make me laugh, (laugh so hard until I) cry, and I get to call them my roommates in our very first apartment. The best part is that we seem to be on the same wave, even for our Friendsgiving celebration.

This trendy new holiday millennials call Friendsgiving allows us to celebrate before we go back home for a few days to see our families. Although we agreed upon a traditional turkey dinner, it just didn't happen. There was too much work due before break, and not enough time to cook what would have been a beautiful meal. Instead we opted for pizza, a better alternative - we're not a hard crowd to please. But Friendsgiving isn't about the food, it's about acknowledging that during this time of so-called reflection, we count our friends as one of many blessings. We reminisce about good times and fantasize about our futures. We yell at the people being too loud upstairs, while we scream lyrics to Lizzie McGuire's "This Is What Dreams Are Made Of." We play a game of "What Would You Do for a Billion Dollars?" and argue about the answers.  I'm thankful for these little moments and for the intelligent, kind, strong young women I call my friends - Dora, Katherine, and Rachel, this one's for you!  xo
